We bought a few new pots on our trip to Tobe last weekend. Tobe is a pottery village in Ehime prefecture–about a three-hour drive from Kochi. In Japan, each pottery village has it’s own style, and Tobe is known for porcelain tableware with cobalt slip decoration.
A small rice bowl for Saya.
A bigger rice bowl for Junji.
I chose these two soba choko (soba noodle dipping cups). This is a classic Tobe form–there were so many of these little cups to choose from.
Junji chose these two, more traditional, soba choko.
